School of Social Work conducted Free Medical Camp as part of MRHP

Social work trainees of Marian School of Social Work displayed their true spirit of service by conducting a one day free medical camp at Marian college premises on Sunday, 28th November 2010. The camp was a collaborative effort of School of Social Work, MRHP (Marian Rural Health Programme) and Chazhikadan Foundation, Thodupuzha as part of the community outreach programme.

Peermade Panchayat Health and Education standing Committee Chairman Sri. V. S. Prasannan inaugurated the medical camp. Around 200 people from various wards of Peermade Panchayat benefited from this camp. The services of a Paediatrician and an Orthopaedic surgeon were available to the people.

To the social work trainees, it was a real life experience as well as a great exposure to the practical side of their learning. The medical camp bridged the classroom with the community bringing the individual social responsibility of every trainee into action.

Mrs. Princy T Sebastian and Mr. Renjith R (Faculties, Marian School of Social Work) were also present for this programme
